Chris Tomlinson Long Jump
Chris Tomlinson is an athlete, trainer, and public speaker, born in Middlesbrough. He held the British Record for the Long Jump up until August 2009, when he was beaten by 1cm, by Greg Rutherford.
Chris won a Silver Medal in the World Indoor Championships in Valencia 2008, and a Bronze Medal in the European Athletics Championships in Barcelona 2010. He is one of Middlesbroughs most well known sportsmen.
Lucia Rovardi
Lucia Rovardi is an actress, comedian, and presenter from Middlesbrough. She has appeared in a number of musicals, tv shows and commercials, more notibly playing Elena Holly in the hit west end musical Buddy.
Lucia has experienced a diverse career path, from singing cabaret in the social clubs of Middlesbrough, appearing in the Miss England beauty pagent, to performing infront of thousands on the west end stage.
Riding For The Troops
On May 23rd, 2009, eleven cyclists gathered to embark on a seven day journey to travel over 1000 miles from John 'O Groats to Lands End. This was in aid of the charity BLESMA (British Limbless Ex Service Men's Assocation) and the team raised over £11,000.
The team raised over £11,000 in total, which included donations from companies such as Tesco, Morrisons, Wilkinsons, P&O Ferries, Middlesbrough College, and of course, APD IT Solutions.
